What you'll be doing:
Produce high-quality histopathology reports from digital histology whole slide images (WSIs), working to agreed daily quotas and turnaround times.
Report a range of cases, including adjunctive testing such as histochemical stains, PARR clonality testing and immunohistochemistry.
Work directly with submitting clinicians, responding to queries and providing guidance around sampling and reports.
Take part in pathology discussions, including journal clubs, cytology-histology rounds and case reviews.
Support and develop the histology laboratory team through training, SOP development, guidance on complex sample trimming and internal QA/QC.
Maintain professional standards through ongoing CPD and relevant board-certification requirements.
Contribute to research, teaching, education, business development and marketing initiatives that support the continued development of our laboratory service.
The expected minimum workload is 40 tissues per 8-hour working day, with a strong focus on maintaining both efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
