Full job description

Overview

TMI Foods Ltd based in Lodge Farm Industrial Estate, Northampton UK is recruiting for a full-time, permanent Ancillary Technician. The job purpose is to oversee the operation of site services such as boiler, water treatment, cooling towers and various other services in accordance with Food Safety, Health and Safety and company polices and procedures.

Skills, Qualifications & Experiance

Mechanically inclined in order to properly assist with building maintenance issues
Excellent awareness and experience in relation to Food Safety & Quality, and Health & Safety
Experienced in fault finding
Aptitude for process awareness
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and have drive
Results and goals focused
Enthusiastic “can do” attitude
Display time and project management skills
Problem solving skills
Flexible to the needs of the business
Willing to train and learn new skills

Key duties & responsibilities

To ensure that site services are at the correct operating levels and maintained in good working order
Carry out daily checks on the boiler, cooling towers, DAF plant and other services as required
Take meter readings for site services
Organise collections and deliveries
Keep plant rooms and working areas tidy and audit ready
Report any issues found in the area to the engineering team
Utilise the CMMS system for completing PM tasks and recording jobs
Ensure paperwork is up to date and ready for inspection
Prevention of “dangerous practices” and responsibility for reporting and resolving any health and safety issues
Housekeeping
Other projects and responsibilities where appropriate in the running of the site.

Pay: £27,643.20 per year
