Full job description

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to join our restaurant in Oban.

This is a key position for someone who enjoys being at the heart of a busy restaurant and is confident taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the entire operation.

We are looking for an organised, motivated and commercially minded manager who can lead a team, maintain high standards and help us build a successful restaurant from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the restaurant
Lead, motivate and manage the front-of-house team
Prepare weekly staff rotas and manage staffing levels
Recruit, train and develop team members
Manage staff performance and ensure company standards are maintained
Create and maintain cleaning and opening/closing schedules
Carry out regular stock checks and assist with ordering
Monitor wastage, stock control and operational costs
Ensure excellent customer service and deal confidently with customer feedback and complaints
Manage busy services and ensure smooth communication between front of house and kitchen
Oversee cash handling, closing procedures and daily operational checks
Ensure food hygiene, health & safety and licensing procedures are followed
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service
Monitor staff attendance and performance
Help maximise sales and profitability
Work closely with the owners to achieve business and financial targets
Lead by example and be prepared to work hands-on during busy periods

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

An experienced restaurant manager or general manager
Confident leading a busy team
Highly organised and able to manage multiple responsibilities
Commercially aware, with an understanding of labour, stock and wastage costs
Passionate about hospitality and delivering excellent customer experiences
Calm and professional under pressure
A strong communicator and natural leader
Reliable, proactive and able to work independently
Comfortable working evenings, weekends and busy tourist-season periods
Hands-on and willing to lead from the front

What We Offer

£30,000 onwards salary, will increase depending on experience
