Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Housekeeper to oversee the cleanliness and organisation of our hotel. The successful candidate will lead the housekeeping team, ensuring high standards of hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a welcoming environment for all guests.

Duties

Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping team to ensure efficient operations
Develop and implement cleaning schedules and standards in line with hotel policies
Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
Train new staff members on cleaning procedures, health & safety protocols, and customer service expectations
Manage inventory levels of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring cost-effective utilisation
Address guest requests or complaints promptly to uphold high levels of guest satisfaction
Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery across the hotel
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

Proven experience in hotel housekeeping or hospitality environments, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong background in janitorial services or cleaning operations within a hospitality setting
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to lead a team effectively
Knowledge of health & safety standards relevant to the hospitality industry
Previous experience with staff training and development is desirable
Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detail

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, leadership, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
