Duties/Skills Required: -
Manage and oversee the entire weekly payroll cycle, including data entry, processing, analysis of data, for 270 employees (on average).
- Setting up and enrolling new team members on to the Astrow 10 Time & Attendance suite & Sage 50 payroll.
- Checking employee working times against rota's and reviewing anomalies with relevant Manager.
- Processing of weekly wages, including preparation of Holiday Pay, SSP, Maternity Pay, Deductions from earnings, Child Maintenance deductions etc.
- Downloading of hours from Astrow 10 to Sage 50, and entering Holiday and adjustments onto Payslips.
- Checking of payslips and making any subsequent adjustments as necessary.
- Downloading weekly Wages data and preparing associated spreadsheets using Excel. Completion of P45’s and submitting Full Payment Summary to HMRC. Completion and submission of BACS file to Barclays for weekly team members pay.
- Processing of nominal journal from Sage Payroll to Sage Accounts.
- Collaborate with HR to verify employee information, benefits, deductions, and tax compliance.
- Making manual adjustments on the Astrow 10 Time & Attendance system, prior to Sage upload.
- Preparation and implementation of various company adjustments e.g. staff accommodation rent charges etc.
- Recording of team members absences on Sage 50.
- Managing Company Pension Scheme, auto-enrolment, deductions and returns etc.
- Stay updated on legal requirements related to payroll, taxes, and employment laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Replying to employee queries both verbally and/or via email.
- Month end and Year end procedures & reporting.
Hours: -
- FULL-TIME – Generally we are looking for someone 9.00am-5.00pm Monday-Friday (37.5 hours). Some scope for negotiation on hours, subject to personal circumstance.
Rate of Pay:
- Rates discussed at interview, subject to experience/ability, circa £36,000 per annum.
Person Specification: -
- Previous proven experience of Payroll operations essential.
- Experience with Sage 50 Payroll preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word essential.
- Familiarity with human resources processes, including benefits administration and compliance regulations.
- Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail for accuracy in payroll calculations.
- Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends or issues affecting payroll accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Fast and conscientious worker.
- Team player, able to engage with team members at all levels courteously and professionally.
- Looking for an honest, hardworking individual.
