Full job description

Mission Darts are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Graphic Designer to join our growing creative team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for innovative design, advanced digital design skills and a proven ability to take creative projects from concept through to delivery.

This role will play an important part in developing and maintaining the visual identity of Mission Darts, creating high-quality creative across digital, social, eCommerce, print, product and marketing activity.

We are looking for a forward-thinking designer who is also confident using AI and emerging creative technologies to enhance the design process. The successful candidate will be expected to combine strong creative and technical design skills with the ability to use AI tools to support concept development, visual creation, editing and creative production.

Key Accountabilities

Take ownership of creative projects from initial brief and concept development through to final delivery.
Develop compelling and innovative design concepts that reflect the Mission Darts brand, target audience and commercial objectives.
Create high-quality designs across digital and print materials, including social media, websites, eCommerce, email, advertising, campaigns, events, POS and marketing materials.
Collaborate with the wider marketing and design team to understand project requirements, objectives and deadlines.
Provide creative input into campaigns, product launches, brand activity and marketing initiatives.
Develop graphics, layouts, artwork and visual assets in line with Mission Darts brand guidelines.
Ensure consistency and quality across all Mission Darts creative output.
Use Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, to produce high-quality designs.
Utilise AI-powered creative tools to support concept development, image generation, editing, visual experimentation and production.
Explore and adopt new AI tools and technologies that can improve creative workflows, efficiency and output.
Maintain appropriate creative direction and quality control when using AI-generated or AI-assisted content.
Support the development and evolution of Mission Darts' visual identity and creative style.
Complete photography of products and other assets when required.
Retouch and edit photography and other visual assets to a high standard.
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and translate briefs into effective creative solutions.
Provide guidance, support and creative input to other members of the design team where appropriate.
Review creative work and provide constructive feedback to help maintain and improve design standards.
Incorporate feedback and make revisions as necessary while maintaining the integrity of the original creative concept.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved.
Stay up to date with developments in graphic design, AI, digital content, creative technology and industry trends.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve creative processes, workflows and output.
Ensure all work is completed to a consistently high standard and is appropriate for the Mission Darts brand.

Skills, Knowledge and Attributes

Essential

Proven experience as a Senior Graphic Designer, Graphic Designer or similar creative role.
Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality graphic design, creative thinking and a strong eye for detail.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Strong understanding of graphic design principles, typography, layout, composition, colour and visual communication.
Proven experience developing creative concepts from brief through to final delivery.
Experience creating creative for a range of digital and print channels.
Strong understanding of brand identity and the importance of maintaining brand consistency.
Experience using generative AI and AI-assisted creative tools as part of the design process.
Confidence using AI tools such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, DALL·E, ChatGPT or similar platforms.
Ability to use AI creatively and effectively while applying strong design judgement and maintaining quality standards.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail.
Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an approachable style.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across different areas of the business.

Desirable

Experience working within an eCommerce, retail, sports, lifestyle or consumer brand.
Experience within the darts or wider sporting goods industry.
Experience with product photography and image retouching.
Experience with motion graphics, animation or video editing.
Experience creating artwork for packaging, POS or physical products.
Experience developing creative for social media and digital advertising.
Experience using AI image generation and manipulation tools to a commercially usable standard.
Knowledge of Shopify or other eCommerce platforms.
Experience mentoring, supporting or providing guidance to junior designers.
Experience developing and implementing brand guidelines.
Strong interest in emerging creative technology and the future of AI within design.
