Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Maritime Logistics Officer to oversee the efficient coordination and management of maritime transportation operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless logistics workflows, optimizing supply chain processes, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. Your expertise will drive the successful movement of goods via maritime channels, supporting our global supply chain objectives. Duties
- Manage and coordinate maritime transportation schedules using advanced Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Oversee the entire supply chain process related to maritime logistics, including cargo planning, vessel scheduling, and port operations.
- Utilize CRM software to maintain accurate records of client interactions, shipment statuses, and lead generation activities.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements with shipping lines, 3PL providers (Third-Party Logistics), and other vendors to secure optimal rates and service levels.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and other international shipping standards during all stages of cargo handling and documentation.
- Facilitate electronic data interchange (EDI) processes for seamless communication between trading partners and internal systems such as AS400.
- Conduct data entry tasks accurately within logistics platforms, updating shipment statuses, inventory levels, and operational reports regularly.
- Develop strategies for lead generation in B2B sales channels to expand our maritime logistics network and customer base.
- Coordinate with internal teams on logistics planning, sales management, and customer relationship management to enhance overall service delivery.
- Monitor 3PL performance metrics, address issues proactively, and implement improvements to optimize operational efficiency.
Skills
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS), EDI, CRM software, and AS400 platforms for effective logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, including inventory management, freight forwarding, and port operations.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with shipping providers and vendors.
- Knowledge of logistics regulations, FDA compliance standards, and international shipping protocols.
- Experience with B2B sales strategies, lead generation techniques, and sales management practices within the maritime sector.
- Ability to perform precise data entry and maintain detailed records across multiple platforms.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with internal teams, vendors, clients, and regulatory bodies.
