Join Franciscan Children’s, an affiliate of Boston Children's Hospital, as a Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist and provide high-quality, family-centered care across both our inpatient and outpatient programs. This unique float position offers variety and flexibility, with the opportunity to work with pediatric patients across different clinical settings while supporting evolving patient and departmental needs.

The Speech-Language Pathologist provides evaluation, treatment, education, and consultation for primarily pediatric patients, with occasional adult patients. As a float clinician, you’ll maintain proficiency across inpatient and outpatient settings and provide coverage based on staff absences, census fluctuations, and program growth.

What You’ll Do

Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans addressing communication, speech, language, oral motor, swallowing, and feeding needs.
Provide evidence-based speech-language pathology interventions for pediatric patients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Assess communication and oral motor function, incorporating each patient’s developmental and medical history, environment, and family goals.
Evaluate the need for communication devices, assistive technologies, and adaptive feeding equipment.
Educate patients, families, caregivers, and support personnel on therapeutic activities, home programs, and the use of assistive devices and equipment.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment, discharge planning, and continuity of care.
Provide flexible clinical coverage across programs based on patient volume and departmental needs.
Adapt quickly to different clinical environments, caseloads, and team structures.
Monitor and communicate patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
Maintain timely documentation and meet departmental and regulatory requirements.
Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and departmental initiatives.
Provide clinical supervision to graduate students, clinical fellows, and other staff as requested, and serve as a resource within areas of expertise.

What We’re Looking For

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
A minimum of nine months of professional experience.
Knowledge of basic treatments and procedures related to patient care.
Ability to work effectively across inpatient and outpatient settings.
A collaborative, adaptable approach and commitment to providing exceptional patient- and family-centered care.
