Overview
Frilu is a growing, family-run landscaping, outdoor living and materials supply business. We work with tradespeople, landscapers and construction businesses, as well as private homeowners, hospitality clients and commercial projects across Cumbria and the surrounding counties.
We are looking for a reliable, professional and motivated HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. This is primarily a delivery-driving role, with practical yard responsibilities. You will organise and deliver aggregates, landscaping materials, outdoor furniture and high-quality products to a wide range of customers using our tipper and HIAB-equipped HGV.
One delivery may be to a busy landscaping or construction site, while the next may be to a private home or hotel. For that reason, we need someone practical and confident in a working site environment, but equally careful, presentable and professional when dealing with customers on their property.
The Role
Your main responsibility will be completing safe, efficient and professional deliveries across Cumbria and the surrounding counties.
You will also support the preparation of orders and the smooth running of the stock yard. Your duties will include:
- Driving Class 2 HGV vehicles, including tipper and HIAB-equipped vehicles
- Completing local and regional deliveries, with no routine nights away
- Loading, securing, transporting and unloading loose and bagged aggregates, landscaping products, furniture and outdoor-living items
- Completing daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any faults promptly
- Keeping vehicles and load areas clean; coordinating vehicle servicing and repairs
- Supporting the loading and preparation of customer orders
- Bagging aggregates and other materials when required
- Unloading incoming supplier deliveries using a forklift, where trained
- Monitoring stock levels and reporting low-stock or damaged items
- Keeping delivery paperwork, vehicle records and relevant documentation accurate
- Supporting the organisation, safety and cleanliness of the yard
Essential Requirements
You must:
- Hold a valid HGV Class 2 licence and a valid Driver CPC
- Hold a valid digital tachograph card
- Have a satisfactory driving record that meets the Company's motor-insurance requirements
- Understand driver's hours, tachograph rules, load security and daily vehicle-check requirements
- Be reliable, punctual and organised
- Be physically capable and willing to undertake practical yard duties
- Be comfortable dealing with both experienced tradespeople and high-end private or commercial clients
- Take pride in your appearance, vehicle and standard of work
- Communicate clearly with customers, colleagues and suppliers
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude towards customers and team members
- Have the right to work in the UK
Applicants will be asked to disclose any current licence points, endorsements, disqualifications or relevant driving convictions.
Desirable Experience

- Tipper driving
- HIAB or lorry-loader operation
- Building merchant or construction-material deliveries
- Multi-drop delivery work

Working Hours
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week over five days, Monday to Friday.
The working day will be between 7:00am to 5:00pm. The successful applicant’s normal days and hours will be agreed in advance.
