Full job description

Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Westpoint, Peterborough, office based

Reports To: Financial Controller

Hours: Full time

Main Purpose of the job

Here at Charis, we want to make a difference – supporting our clients in delivering services and support quickly and efficiently to those that need it.

The Management Accountant will play a key role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting to support operational decision-making. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts, for multiple UK entities.

Key Responsibilities

· Preparation of monthly management accounts including full variance analysis.

· Lead the detailed month-end process with all necessary reconciliations and check lists, ensuring all control accounts reconcile with sub ledgers.

· Monthly reconciliation of Inter-Company accounts across the group entities.

· Regular review of overheads to ensure costs are accurately captured, and variances to budget understood.

· Bank reconciliations for both Group and Client funds.

· Preparation and submission of quarterly VAT returns for the group entities.

· Assisting the FC with the year-end audit and liaise with Auditors as and when required.

· Reviewing AP and AR output, and supporting the team where needed

· Regular margin review across all products.

· Supporting process improvements and systems development.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

· Part-qualified (at final stage) / fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with proven experience within a similar role

· Strong analytical skills

· A high attention to detail

· Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

· Advanced excel skills and confident working with data

· Proactive, organised, and comfortable working to deadlines.
