Job Overview
This role will involve extensive travel throughout the UK, therefore full driving licence is a requirement.
This temporary role will be involved in supporting all aspects of the preparation, construction, installation and delivery of the highest quality artificial surface sports pitches and sports surfaces. The work will involve varied locations regionally throughout the UK, working on football and rugby pitches, cricket pitches, tennis courts and multi-user games areas. Full training will be given.
All candidates must show flexibility along with a willingness to learn and adapt and be a team player. You should enjoy working outdoors and be willing to support the business during peak summer months. You need to be prepared to work away from home during the week.
You must be able to follow instructions; have a passion and commitment to the delivery of a high-quality customer-focussed service. Good communication skills, a friendly outlook and an ability to find solutions rather than see problems are key to this role. An ability to think for yourself and identify risks is critical, as is a commitment to quality and health and safety.
A full driving licence and own transport is essential for this position as there will be a requirement to travel to site(s).
Duties
- To To assist with the construction and installation of the highest quality sports surfaces on projects throughout the UK.
- To work as part of a team in the preparation of basic groundworks, including ground levelling and preparation, kerb laying and drainage works, and any other hard landscaping under guidance of trained personnel.
- To use / operate basic construction power tools, equipment, subject to training and competency. (Further plant machinery training can be offered to person undertaking full certified training)
- To work as part of a team in the laying and installation of artificial sports turf surfaces on prepared pitch ground.
- To undertake general labouring tasks, including assisting with the erection of temporary fencing and site signage as required.
Note: Most Site Operative roles will focus on either groundworks/ civils operations or on surface installation works. The role of a Site Operative is to be flexible with the capability and willingness to undertake either civils or installations works, subject to training and instruction.
