We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join the HR & OD team at Great Ormond Street Hospital on a 12-month fixed-term or secondment basis as the Head of Resourcing.

As Head of Resourcing, you will lead the Trust's end-to-end Agenda for Change (AfC) recruitment service providing strategic direction and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of inclusive, fair, transparent, and efficient recruitment practices. A key priority for this role will be embedding the Trust's newly launched values throughout the resourcing function, ensuring they are fully integrated into recruitment processes, candidate engagement, assessment approaches and team culture.

You will drive continuous improvement across the resourcing landscape, enhancing the experience of candidates and hiring managers while supporting the Trust's workforce priorities including temporary staffing. Working in close partnership with the Head of Workforce and Digital Transformation, you will also play a leading role in identifying and implementing digital and automation solutions that streamline processes, improve efficiency and enhance data insights.

As a member of the HR&OD leadership team reporting to the Associate Director of People, you will play a key leadership role over a 12 month period, providing oversight and support to deliver organisational objectives.

Main duties of the job

This is a strategic yet hands-on leadership role, ideally suited to someone who is willing to delve into operational detail to provide assurance, inspire a high performing team and drive innovative resourcing solutions within a world-leading organisation.

As an experienced Resourcing professional you will have significant experience in developing Resourcing Functions and line managing staff. With strong interpersonal and communication skills you will be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the Trust, suppliers and external partners across North Central London.

You will bring;

Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility, challenge constructively, and develop consensus across a diverse range of stakeholders.
Experience leading recruitment and temporary staffing services within a complex organisation
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing Resourcing team in delivering against KPIs and service standards.
Experience of implementing and evaluating equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives within recruitment
Credibility and confidence to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on recruitment and resourcing.

Essential criteria

Advanced IT skills, including high level of proficiency in Excel, MS Teams and PowerPoint and e-Recruitment solutions such as TRAC and NHS Jobs
Ability to understand, manipulate, analyse and present people data, particularly in relation to Recruitment & Temporary Staffing
Able to lead and inspire a sense of shared purpose, overcoming challenges and delivering sustainable service transformation
Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and drive positive outcomes.
