Job Description

Post Title: Social Care Worker
Location: The Elgin Residence, Isle of Skye
Hours: Up to 21 hours per week
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £19,557 - £21,687 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To provide direct care to children and young people who attend Skye Respite Service for day-care or overnight respite. To collaborate closely with other professionals in Care & Learning, Education, Health and Voluntary Agencies, to
assess the needs of children affected by disability and their families and provide integrated services to support them.

Requirements

Registration with SSSC and willingness to undertake the necessary qualifications. (HNC and SVQ Level 3)

Experience of working with children and young people affected by severe disability, including Autistic Spectrum Disorders

This position is classified as a regulated role. As such, an Overseas Criminal Record Check may be required depending on your nationality and recent residency history. Specifically, this check will be necessary if you do not meet both of the following criteria:

You must be a national of the United Kingdom or one of the following countries: Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Greece, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, or Poland.
You must not have lived or worked in any country outside of the UK or those listed above for a period of three months or more, while aged 18 years or over, within the past five years.

Please note that it is your responsibility to obtain the Overseas Criminal Record Check, and you will be required to cover any associated costs.
