What you’ll actually be doing
This is a hands-on adult community dietetics role, where no two days are quite the same. You’ll manage your own varied adult caseload, supporting adults who are at risk of malnutrition, require oral nutrition support, or are established on home enteral feeding.
Your work will include:
- Seeing patients in outpatient clinics at Minerva and other local health centres
- Carrying out domiciliary visits in patients’ own homes and nursing homes
- Delivering practical, patient-centred dietetic care in real-life settings
- Working closely with MDT colleagues across community services
Development & support
We’re committed to helping you grow. You’ll have:
- Plenty of opportunities for CPD and training
- Support from experienced colleagues and team leads
- Space to develop specialist skills in malnutrition and home enteral feeding
- The chance to shape how we deliver community dietetic services locally
We’re a small, friendly and motivated Community Dietetics team who genuinely support one another. The Community Dietetics service recently transferred under Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The team sits alongside the large acute dietetics service which comprises a team of experienced Registered Dietitians, Dietetic Support workers and administrative staff.
We work hard and share knowledge. Community work can be busy and demanding at times, but it’s also incredibly rewarding – seeing the impact of your work directly in patients’ lives is why we do it.
At Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, we take pride in caring for our staff as well as our patients. We recognise that working in a busy environment requires help with a healthy work-life balance. We also believe in ensuring that our staff get the chance to reach their full potential when working with us.
We have 10,000 fantastic people working hard to deliver quality services to our patients. Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area and give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.
Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to supporting our patients and staff, ensuring we keep thriving and delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns.
You will have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills and meet great people.
