5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer

The Role
We are looking for an experienced 5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer to join our manufacturing team at our workshop near Witney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC professional with strong 5-axis milling and programming experience, who is confident working with Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls and offline programming systems including Edgecam and Fusion 360.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines, producing high-quality, complex components to tight tolerances and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Creating and optimising CNC programmes using Edgecam and Fusion 360.
- Setting and operating machines with Hurco WinMax and Fanuc controls.
- Interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models and technical specifications.
- Selecting appropriate tooling, cutting conditions and machining strategies.
- Setting work offsets, tools and fixtures accurately.
- Producing complex components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
- Inspecting finished components and making programme or machine adjustments where required.
- Optimising machining processes to improve cycle times, quality and efficiency.
- Working independently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Following company procedures relating to quality, health & safety and housekeeping.
About You
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience as a 5-Axis CNC Miller / Programmer.
- Strong experience programming and machining complex components.
- Good knowledge of Hurco WinMax and Fanuc CNC controls.
- Practical experience using Edgecam and/or Fusion 360 for offline programming.
- The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, workholding and machining strategies.
- A good understanding of tolerances, inspection and quality requirements.
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of your work.
