Full job description

Transport Planner, Plant Hire and Sales

Location: Thatcham

Hours: 08.00 to 17.00 Full-time, Monday to Friday, no weekends required.

About the Role

Are you an organised, proactive and reliable transport planner for plant hire/sales who enjoys problem-solving and thrives in a busy office environment?

We have an excellent opportunity for an office-based role, responsible for cost effective routing of deliveries and collections of construction equipment to customers and other CBL depots, working as part of a team in a fast-paced business where no two days are the same.

CBL is a family-owned company, providing excellent customer service to a loyal customer base in plant hire and sales of compact equipment throughout southern Britain for over 30 years.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly delivery schedules.

- Liaise with drivers, customers and suppliers to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.

- Monitor delivery progress and resolve any day-to-day logistical issues.

- Process customer orders and maintain accurate records.

- Support the sales team with order processing and customer enquiries.

- Handle telephone and email enquiries professionally.

- Maintain accurate transport and customer records.

- Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.

About You

The ideal candidate will:

- Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

- Have strong communication and customer service skills.

- Be confident prioritising tasks in a busy office environment.

- Be comfortable using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems.

- Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Have previous experience in logistics or transport planning, ideally in the construction industry.
