PSK Metonym Systems Ltd is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our team as DevOps Engineer with the experience of cloud computing and using Microsoft Azure to work in one of our projects. The Azure Senior DevOps Engineer will be a member of the Enterprise Application Rapid Delivery Services team and is primarily Responsible for building, deploying, maintain and automating our software development pipeline from source control through production. Works closely with operations as a developer, or with development as an operation professional. As a Azure DevOps Engineer, the candidate is responsible for developing and delivering scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms. The candidate will ensure solutions are built based on company standards and that they can be deployed with the company's environment (whether in a global or local environment).
The ideal candidates will need to be educated to UK equivalent of Bachelor’s Degree or related technical field to be able to apply for this position.
The Role:
The role is primarily based in the London however, you may be expected to travel other parts of UK to our client’s premises where your IT expertise is required.
Employment Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Annual Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
· Write software, from build system automation to automated deployment, to scale our engineering delivery
· Bring in continuous deployment practices to enhance our Agile posture
· Imagine, architect, develop, deploy, and evolve CI and CD systems for our cloud applications
· Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Industry standard tools and services
· Write application deployment automation using industry standard deployment and configuration tools
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills with leadership and project stakeholders across different parts of the organization to achieve strategic opportunities and deliver on tactical project milestones alike.
· Design and implement continuous delivery pipelines that serve the purpose of provisioning and operating client test as well as production environments
· Provide systems support including responding to monitoring alerts
· Implement and stay abreast of Cloud and DevOps industry best practices and tooling
· Work with developers to identify necessary Azure resources and automate their provisioning
· Document automation processes
· Workstation issue troubleshooting (e.g. proxy, McAfee)
· CI/CD infrastructure and process troubleshooting (disk space, network issues etc).
· CI/CD pipeline support (troubleshooting, support with setting up in new projects)
· Work closely with key stakeholders to capture, analyze, and derive DevOps requirements
· Strong technical and software engineering background in particular in the areas of cloud computing, enterprise computing, serverless computing, Azure, GCP, AWS, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Linux, Jenkins, Golang, Bash, Perl, Python, Dotnet core, C++ and Java
· Proven experience with complete product life cycle in a production services environment, including design, implementation, load and scale testing, deployment and maintenance
Proficiency in using project management, planning, tracking, collaboration, and other digital tools
· Writing code for unit and integration testing using Java. Nice to have experience in using Junit or similar technology
· Responsible to maintain and administrate the RDMS and No-SQL data bases such as like Postgress, MongoDB, Json and SQL Server
· Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for successful execution of projects.
Define project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
· Risk management to minimize project risks.
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks or projects to align with the strategic objectives and with business goals.
· Automating recurring tasks using scripting languages such as Python,Bash and YAML.
· Thorough understanding of operational support processes, excellent business acumen and ability to direct team in dissecting and diagnosing complex problems.
Skills:
· Experience with multi cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud and Openshift)
· Strong experience in development and administration of Microservices design/implementation, API Management, Container technologies, Serverless computing, NOSQL, Caching, Messaging and Kinesis.
· Experienced with running large complex global infrastructure spanning across multiple data center leveraging private & public cloud.
· Experience designing and delivering secure cloud solution on AWS, Azure(must have).
· Expertise in one or more Infrastructure automation technology(automating network and host provisioning).
· Prior Experience developing and/or supporting core Infrastructure computing services (Domain Controller, DNS, Virtualization, VMWare, Storage, Backup/Recovery, Data Security, Data Replication & monitoring.
· Experienced with DevOps & ITIL approach in running a superior service operations & delivery function.
· Experienced with continuous integration and continuous deployment, includes coding in python or java, docker, webapps, logical apps, Fargate and Kubernetes.
