Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Locum Veterinary Surgeon to provide high-quality veterinary care on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering professional veterinary services, ensuring the wellbeing of animals, and supporting the veterinary team as needed. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your veterinary expertise in a dynamic environment, contributing to animal health and client satisfaction.

Duties

Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose a variety of animal health issues
Perform surgical procedures, including routine operations and emergency interventions
Prescribe appropriate treatments and medications tailored to individual cases
Provide advice and education to pet owners on animal care and preventive health measures
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in accordance with legal and organisational standards
Assist with laboratory testing and analyse results to support diagnoses
Support the veterinary team with administrative tasks as required, ensuring smooth clinic operations
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and ethical guidelines within the practice

Experience

Proven veterinary experience within a clinical setting, demonstrating competence across a range of cases
Laboratory experience is desirable, with the ability to interpret diagnostic results effectively
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and team members
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads and clinical demands in a fast-paced environment
