The Opportunity
Are you an experienced mechanical professional looking for a dynamic hands-on role where your expertise keeps operations moving? Holcim is offering a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop new skills while playing a crucial part in maintaining the largest site within our Concrete Products Division at Hulland Ward, Derbyshire!
Working directly on-site you will join an energetic environment operating a two-shift system across a five-day week (6:15 until 15:00 Mon - Thur, 6:15 until 14:45 Friday and 14:45 - 00:30 Mon -Thur and 1 in 2 Saturday's for 5 hours). In this vital role reporting to a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will carry out essential planned maintenance, respond swiftly to plant breakdowns, and ensure long-term solutions for continuous operations. From conducting safety inspections and maintaining equipment assets to supporting and training site operatives, you will be at the heart of our commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
You hold an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Maintenance, alongside solid experience in welding, cutting, fabrication techniques, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
You are enthusiastic, highly motivated, and thrive when solving daily challenges in a collaborative environment.
You have a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring work areas remain clean and hazard-free.
You possess excellent communication skills, enabling you to build clear, positive relationships across the entire site team and assist colleagues when needed.
You are organised and adaptable, with good IT literacy and the ability to interpret engineering drawings to plan and implement effective maintenance schedules.
You take pride in continuous growth, actively seeking opportunities to enhance your technical knowledge while coaching others.
