Full Role Description: Volunteer Drivers Mate
Location: Rugby, Warwickshire
Hours: Flexible
Our Driver’s Mate Volunteers play an essential role in helping The Air Ambulance Service raise the funds needed to keep our lifesaving helicopters flying and our critical care teams responding when every second counts.
By assisting with the collecting and delivering of donated goods across our retail network, you’ll help ensure our charity shops are well stocked, providing an excellent shopping experience while generating vital income to support our lifesaving services. Every collection you support has a direct impact on the communities we serve.

✨ What You’ll Be Doing:
- Support our driver to collect donated furniture, clothing and other items from supporters and deliver them safely to our charity shops and retail locations.
- Assist with loading, unloading and moving donated goods, including larger furniture items where appropriate.
- Use Sat Nav, Google Maps or other navigation tools to support with planning efficient routes.
- Deliver excellent customer service when interacting with donors, customers, colleagues and fellow volunteers.
- Represent The Air Ambulance Service positively within the local community.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and support safe manual handling practices.
Help maximise the value of every donation to support our lifesaving work.
What We’re Looking For:
- A friendly, approachable and reliable manner.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A positive and flexible attitude.
- The ability to safely lift and move donated items (with appropriate support where required).
- Confidence working with others and representing the charity professionally.
- A willingness to follow our policies, procedures and health and safety guidance.

The role is subject to a Basic DBS check.
