LOCATION: Salford
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,100 - £33,900 depending on relevant skills, knowledge, and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Production Services is a small team that makes a big impact within the BBC. We support teams across the UK by coordinating the supply and maintenance of the broadcast equipment needed by productions to capture stories, create content and connect with our audiences. Through the preparation, hire and testing of all the broadcast equipment required by productions, we provide an essential and varied service, supporting large productions right through to individual creators.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Arrange the hire and maintenance of self op broadcast equipment such as Cameras, lighting and sound equipment to productions and individuals across the BBC.
- Ensure equipment is correctly monitored and tracked using our bespoke asset management system
- Ensure all equipment is fully function tested and prepared in accordance with production requirements.
- Support in the movement of equipment through arranging couriers or providing Shipping list for Carnets
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to productions both remotely and in person
- Occasional overnight travel to assist with events and/or to cover our London/ Glasgow offices may be required.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE – KEY CRITERIA
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Experience of using broadcast / production equipment such as cameras and sound recording equipment.
- Detailed technical knowledge of audio and visual equipment used in programme making
- An understanding of the responsibilities involved in the management, supply, maintenance, and storage of all equipment and accessories
- Proven ability to work in a team environment adopting a collaborative and supportive approach
- Effective communication skills (both oral and written) so as to be able to impart technical information to individuals with no technical background
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Detailed understanding of programme making and the needs of production staff, particularly in relation to self-op production
- Experience working in a hire environment
- Experience of using an asset management software
- Experience of providing a high level of customer service.
- Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritise; experience of working to tight deadlines
