Role Overview
We are looking for an International Freight Forwarder to join our team at our Newcastle site (SR5 2TA), with opportunity to work remotely up to 3 days per week (subject to business requirements).
In this role, you’ll be working as part of a team to ensure effective planning of international shipments on behalf of our clients. It is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to develop their career in logistics.
This a full-time, permanent position offering a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience). The working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing agreed procedures as a control tower for healthcare business, ensuring all operations adhere to route lane designs agreed and approved by Quality Manager within Yusen and the client.
- Supporting the compliance team with investigations as required.
- Acting as the direct contact between our customers and internal and external stakeholders.
- To be the initial contact for all bookings, queries and finance related issues for our portfolio of clients.
- Ensuring costs received and debits raised are as per the agreed levels.
- Producing required reports for management and clients where necessary and assisting with continuous improvement opportunities.
- Engaging with the clients to fully understand and meet their requirements and expectations.
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Proven experience working within an international freight forwarding environment, including air and / or sea freight.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail.
- Good administrative and IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Can-do attitude and willingness to learn.
