Family Assistant – Childcare & Household Support
We are looking for a reliable, caring and trustworthy Family Assistant to work closely with our family and provide a combination of regular childcare and household support.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with children but is also happy to help with the day-to-day running of a busy family home. We are looking for someone who can become a consistent and trusted part of our family life.
The role will include:
* Regular childcare and babysitting
* Caring for and engaging with the children
* Helping with school/nursery runs and activities when required
* Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
* Helping with evening and bedtime routines
* Caring for the children independently when parents are out
* Some late evenings and overnight stays when required
* Light household duties including tidying and laundry
* Changing bedding and keeping children’s/family areas organised
* Helping to keep on top of general household tasks
* Providing an extra pair of hands with the everyday running of the home
Hours:
Hours will be flexible and may vary, so we need someone who has some flexibility around the family’s needs. There may be a mixture of daytime hours, evenings, later finishes and overnight stays. Wherever possible, hours will be arranged in advance.
We are looking for someone who is:

* Happy to help with both childcare and household tasks
* Flexible with hours where possible
* Comfortable with occasional overnight stays and late evenings
* Discreet and respectful of family privacy
* Interested in a long-term position and building a good relationship with the whole family
Previous experience as a nanny, babysitter, childminder, family assistant or similar would be preferred.
References will be required and an enhanced DBS is preferred.
Pay will be dependent on experience, responsibilities and availability.
