Job Overview

We are looking for a part time person to work Thursday/Friday and alternative Saturdays

Starting time can be flexible.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant/Dispensing Optician to join our professional team. This role involves assisting customers with selecting suitable eyewear, conducting preliminary eye assessments, and supporting the dispensing process.

Responsibilities

Assisting customers in choosing frames and lenses that meet their visual needs and personal preferences
Conducting preliminary eye examinations and vision tests under supervision
Dispensing spectacles and contact lenses, ensuring proper fit and comfort
Maintaining laboratory equipment and preparing lenses for fitting
Providing advice on lens options, coatings, and frame styles to optimise visual performance
Supporting the optical team with administrative tasks such as updating patient records and scheduling appointments
Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards within the optical practice
Staying informed about new products, technologies, and industry regulations to provide expert guidance to clients
Pre screening
