Job Description - Bank Care Assistant
This job is specific and would require you to sit with a resident for 6 hours a night 3 days a week whilst the resident is sleeping. You will need to complete specific training which will be provided.
This job is for a particular persons needs and therefore is a bank care assistant and it is only needed whilst the resident requires the ventilator.
Responsible to: Manager and Trained staff/Senior Care Assistant
Purpose: To care for the service users in a manner, which respects their dignity and privacy and promotes their independence.
Main Responsibilities:
To comply with the homes Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health Regulations.
To attend and contribute to staff meetings when required
To maintain confidentiality on all aspects of care and your work within the home.
To have a working knowledge of the home’s policies and procedures in respect to your job and responsibilities especially in relation to the safe guarding of service users..
To assist service user’s with personal care which includes, bed bath , shampooing hair, helping with brushing hair, mouth care, denture care, helping the service user use a bedpan, helping a service prepare for bed, washing and dressing.
Helping the service user with physical and mental activities. This could involve talking to them, reading to them, writing on their behalf, assisting with their hobbies and recreation activities.
Care at end of life.
Ensure care notes and any other form of written report that affects your work are read and kept up-to-date.
Take part in staff meetings and internal and external training as required.
Attend mandatory training and complete online training as required.
