Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and professional Security Officer to safeguard our premises and ensure the safety of staff, visitors, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong observational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining a secure environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting where attention to security protocols is paramount. The successful applicant will be responsible for monitoring surveillance systems, conducting patrols, and responding swiftly to incidents.

Duties

Monitor security cameras (CCTV) and surveillance equipment to observe activity across the premises.
Conduct regular patrols of the property to identify potential security breaches or hazards.
Implement loss prevention strategies by observing and deterring theft or unauthorised access.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or suspicious activity, following established protocols.
Maintain detailed incident reports and log activities accurately during shifts.
Provide first aid assistance when necessary, ensuring immediate care until professional help arrives.
Control access points by verifying identification and issuing visitor passes as required.
Collaborate with local law enforcement or emergency services during incidents or investigations.

Qualifications

Prior experience in security or surveillance roles is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques is advantageous.
Strong observational skills with an eye for detail and suspicious activity.
Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
First aid certification is desirable; training can be provided for suitable candidates.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
A clean criminal record and the ability to pass background checks are mandatory.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights or weekends if required.
