About the opportunity
We are an established commercial property business managing a varied portfolio of business premises and tenant relationships.
We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to take ownership of early-stage arrears across the portfolio.
This is a flexible, part-time role for someone who is confident dealing with commercial tenants, resolving payment queries and
ensuring overdue balances are properly followed up.
The role will focus mainly on newly overdue commercial rent and other property-related charges. Persistent or higher-risk cases
will be escalated into external credit control or formal debt recovery.
The role
- Monitoring commercial rent, service charge, insurance and other property-related balances
- Contacting tenants promptly when payments become overdue
- Following up payment commitments and missed payment dates
- Communicating professionally and confidently with tenants by telephone and email
- Resolving straightforward invoice, statement and payment-allocation queries
- Identifying genuine disputes or administrative issues and escalating them internally
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all contact, actions, commitments and follow-up dates
- Updating and maintaining the credit-control database and relevant property-management systems
- Producing a clear weekly arrears and actions report
- Escalating persistent or higher-risk accounts at the appropriate stage
- Helping to maintain and improve internal credit-control procedures
Accurate record-keeping is fundamental to this role. Every conversation, payment commitment, dispute and follow-up action
must be clearly documented so the wider team has a reliable and current record.

credit-control experience will also be considered.

- Commercial rent collection
- Service-charge or property-management accounts
- Business-to-business credit control

- Professional services or another relationship-led business environment
An understanding of commercial rent, service charges, insurance charges and tenant account queries would be advantageous.
About you
- Experienced in credit control or accounts receivable
- Confident, professional and persistent
- Comfortable having firm but constructive conversations
- Highly organised, with strong attention to detail
- Computer literate and confident using databases, spreadsheets and cloud-based business systems

- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your workload
- Able to communicate clearly with tenants, colleagues and senior decision-makers
- Commercially aware and able to protect tenant relationships while still securing payment
Location and working pattern
The role is for 12-16 hours per week. We are flexible on how the hours are structured and will agree a suitable working pattern
with the successful candidate.
The role will be office-based during onboarding and the three-month probationary period. Following successful completion of
probation, it will become primarily home-based.
We are advertising nationally to widen the candidate pool and improve our chances of securing the right level of experience.
Occasional office attendance may still be required for meetings, training or portfolio reviews, with reasonable travel expenses
covered where requested.
