Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our team. This role involves providing essential care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. The successful candidate will play a vital part in fostering a safe, nurturing environment, promoting positive development, and ensuring the wellbeing of those in their care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in young people's lives through personalised support and engagement.

Duties

Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people.
Support children with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and recreational pursuits.
Assist with behavioural management strategies, promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
Facilitate educational and social activities to encourage development and integration into the community.
Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and care provided, adhering to organisational policies.
Drive children to appointments, activities, or outings as required, ensuring safe transportation at all times.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals involved in the child's care.
Contribute to the development and review of individualised care plans to meet each child's specific needs.
Uphold health and safety standards within the residential environment at all times.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people in a childcare or support setting is highly desirable.
Valid driving licence with experience in safe transportation of minors is preferred.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, families, and professional teams.
Knowledge of child development principles and childcare best practices.
Ability to work flexibly across shifts, including evenings or weekends if required.
IT literacy skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Compassionate nature with excellent organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
