Full job description

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper with excellent administrative and organisational skills to oversee the day-to-day administration function across the group.

The successful candidate will work alongside the existing finance team, providing practical bookkeeping support while taking responsibility for coordinating and overseeing the administrative staff. This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident managing bookkeeping duties, maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring that administrative work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.

As part of a planned succession process, the successful candidate will gradually learn the wider finance function and may take on increased financial responsibility in the future.

Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.

Essential experience

Proven experience working as a bookkeeper.

Strong knowledge of day-to-day bookkeeping procedures.

Experience with sales and purchase ledgers, invoices, payments and bank reconciliations.

Experience maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end processes. Confidence using accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Experience coordinating, supervising or supporting an administrative team.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Ability to work independently and take responsibility for completing tasks.

Experience handling confidential financial and personal information.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A practical, hands-on approach to both bookkeeping and administration.

Desirable experience

AAT or an equivalent bookkeeping qualification.

Experience in a care-home, healthcare or social-care environment.

Experience supporting payroll administration.

Experience working across multiple locations or within a group organisation.

Pay: £32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
