Rusty's / Rusty's Showbar is a busy, entertainment-led city centre venue offering great drinks, a lively atmosphere and regular live entertainment.
We're looking for an experienced, confident and hands-on General Manager to lead the venue, manage our team and maintain high standards across all areas of the business.
The General Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the venue, reporting directly to the Area Manager and Company Directors.
This isn't a desk-based management role. We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the floor, leading from the front and being part of the atmosphere of the venue.
The Role
As General Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of Rusty's / Rusty's Showbar, working closely with the Area Manager and Company Directors to achieve company targets and maintain operational standards.
A major part of Rusty's is our entertainment offering. We regularly host acts and entertainment, so we're looking for someone who understands how entertainment contributes to the overall customer experience and commercial success of the venue.

- Manage the day-to-day running of the venue.
- Lead, motivate and develop the management, bar and floor teams.
- Recruit and train new team members in line with company procedures.

- Maintain excellent standards of customer service, cleanliness and venue presentation.
- Work with the Area Manager and Company Directors to achieve sales, wage, stock and profitability targets.
- Monitor venue performance and report regularly to senior management.
- Manage stock control, ordering, deliveries and stocktaking.
- Monitor stock performance and GP and investigate any areas of concern.
- Oversee cash handling and ensure company financial procedures are followed.
- Work with the Area Manager, Company Directors, entertainers and performers to ensure entertainment is delivered successfully.
- Help identify new entertainment ideas and opportunities for the venue.
- Ensure entertainment nights are properly planned, staffed and managed.
- Maintain high operational standards during busy and late-night trading.
- Ensure compliance with premises licensing requirements, Challenge 25, Health & Safety and company policies.
- Work effectively with security and door teams to maintain a safe environment.
- Deal professionally with customer feedback and complaints.
- Maintain strong communication with the Area Manager and Company Directors.
- Build and maintain a positive, professional and inclusive working environment.

The Person
We're looking for more than someone who can simply run a bar.
The right person will have personality, energy and presence. You'll understand that a successful entertainment venue is about creating an experience — from the welcome at the door and service at the bar through to the entertainment on stage.
You'll be commercially minded, organised and confident managing the operational side of the business, while bringing ideas and enthusiasm to help keep Rusty's fresh, busy and entertaining.
You'll be comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the venue while working closely with and reporting to the Area Manager and Company Directors.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- A senior management position within an established city centre venue.
- Support from the Area Manager and Company Directors.
- The opportunity to contribute ideas to the development of the venue.
- The chance to be heavily involved in a busy entertainment-led operation.
- A varied role where no two weeks are the same.
