Job Introduction

About the Team

You will be joining a warm, collaborative, transdisciplinary team that includes teachers, therapists, and support staff working together to create an inclusive and communication‑rich environment. The team is committed to neuro-affirming practice and empowering autistic children and young people to thrive. You’ll be supported by experienced therapists and professionals who share knowledge, problem-solve together, and genuinely care about achieving the best outcomes for pupils.

About the Role

As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will play a central role in shaping meaningful communication opportunities for autistic pupils with diverse communication profiles. You’ll deliver evidence‑informed, functional interventions that are embedded into daily school life, ensuring communication support is accessible, individualised, and strengths based. Working closely with families, education staff, and external professionals, you’ll help create an environment where every pupil can express themselves and fully participate.

What You’ll Do

Assess, plan, and deliver Speech & Language Therapy using a neuro-affirming, functional, pupil‑centred approach.
Work collaboratively with staff and families, contributing to EHCPs, Annual Reviews, communication profiles, and whole‑school communication strategies.
Support the development of communication‑inclusive environments, provide training, maintain clinical records, and contribute to service development, evaluation, and audits.

What We’re Looking For

A qualified and HCPC‑registered Speech & Language Therapist with good knowledge of autism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multi‑professional team.
Someone who is reflective, proactive, adaptable, and confident using both formal and informal assessment approaches to support diverse communication needs.
A therapist committed to evidence‑informed, person‑centred practice, with creativity, strong organisational skills, and a passion for improving participation and quality of life for autistic pupils.

This role is a permanent contract (35 hours per week) with 12 weeks paid holiday a year, which must be taken within the existing school holidays for your school. This is to ensure our pupils receive the continuous support they require while at school.
