Job description

JOB TITLE: Support Workers

LOCATION: Iona House, Strabane Co. Tyronr

POST: Part-Time Posts and Reserve List for any Permanent/Temporary, Part-time/Full-Time posts.

Iona Houses is a supported living accommodation giving support and care for up to 12 tenantswith mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is situated centrally within Strabane. Iona Houses provides 24-hour staff support services, 365 days a year supporting tenants to develop skills and get involved in day-to-day decision making.

Essential Criteria

QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
And
6 months experience in a formal care/support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities/ mental health issues.

Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.

Previous experience in administrative duties.

Or
2 years' experience in a formal care /support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities/ Mental Health issues.

Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months

Previous experience in administrative duties.

Must be willing to work towards the completion of relevant qualification.

Formal Care / Support may include caring at home, where the carer is in receipt of Carers' Allowance. Formal Care / Support may also include voluntary work in a formal setting.

This is a regulated post and will be subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Access NI check. Please refer to attached link: AccessNI Code of Practice.

All successful applicants will also be required to provide documentary evidence of their right to work in the UK. Please note Apex do not hold a license to sponsor Working Visa's.
