Full job description

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic rehabilitation support worker?

Do you want to be part of an incredibly rewarding and person-centred approach to care?

If so, we are looking to grow Team Steps, where you will be caring for clients in their own homes and developing your skills as a rehabilitation support worker through our client specific training programmes - both online and in a bespoke classroom-based setting. When working independently with one of our clients, you will never be without assistance from us - thanks to our office team, who run a 24/7 on-call service.

One of our clients is a gentleman in his 50s who suffered an acquired brain injury a number of years ago. He lives in his own home in Cheltenham, he requires support with most daily activities, but also loves getting out and about and has a particular interest in nature and wildlife. He also loves watching sports, Top Gear and dog training programmes on TV.

Another client is a professional working gentleman who was previously in the military and lives in Melksham. His support workers will be aiding with organising his working day, as well as supporting him in the gym with his rehabilitation programme, and help continue these exercises and stretches at home. The candidates will also need to drive the client to any hospital, medical or rehab appointments and follow advice and guidance that is given by professionals.

Both roles are on a 0-hour contract - we have 10-hour shifts and 24-hour shifts available on the above packages.

Responsibilities will include

· Arranging and supporting to attend appointments

· Manual handling and hoisting

· General upkeep of the property

· Administering medication

· Accessing the community

. Assisting with the client's programme of rehabilitation

. Personal care where applicable

Requirements for the position

· Acquired Brain Injury experience is preferred

· Six months health and social care experience is preferable; however, transferrable skills and personal experience will also be considered.

· Competitive rates of pay £14.50-£19.00 per hour, plus extra for bank holidays

· A comprehensive training package, including provision of mandatory training, role specific training, and inclusion on care certificates.

· £200 bonus through the refer a friend scheme
