Overall Purpose of the Job
The Materials Control Coordinator supports the Manufacturing Group by assisting with the tracking and movement of materials within or between departments. This role helps maintain inventory accuracy and supports production schedules by ensuring material availability through close coordination with internal teams. The position requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to follow established procedures. Key Activities and Accountabilities
Assist in monitoring inventory levels by reviewing system-generated reports and flagging discrepancies.
Prepare and submit local purchase requisitions based on direction from the Materials Coordinator or Manufacturing Manager.
Support in verifying material deliveries against purchase orders for quantity and basic compliance.
Communicate with the Purchasing and Operations teams to help ensure timely material availability.
Track the movement and delivery timing of materials to support the production schedule.
Participate in regular inventory cycle counts and assist in data entry and reconciliation.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
Perform additional support duties as assigned by the Materials Coordinator or management.
Job Knowledge and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in supply chain or logistics a plus.
1–2 years of experience in inventory, materials handling, or a similar support role preferred.
Basic understanding of inventory systems and procurement processes.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and ERP systems is a plus.
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework or certification in supply chain or logistics a plus.
Satisfactory results on pre-employment screening (ie background check, drug/alcohol test, etc).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Regularly stand, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear, and smell.
Requires occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and exertion of force up to 43 lbs.
Ability to see objects close, afar, and use peripheral vision is required.
Ability to hear and take verbal direction over loud ambient noises is imperative for the safe execution of job duties. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noises.
Works outdoors: regularly subject to cold, warm, wet or humid conditions resulting from weather or other various conditions.
Regularly work in high, precarious places or near fumes / air borne particles.
