Apprentice Auto Technician Halfords Autocentre Kirkcaldy

Join Halfords as an Apprentice Auto Technician and gain hands-on experience while working towards a recognised qualification with GTG Training.

About the Role

Based in our Kirkcaldy Autocentre, you'll work alongside experienced technicians, learning how to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles. No two days are the same, with exposure to modern technologies, diagnostics and complex vehicle repairs.

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in building a career in the motor industry.

Working Hours

5-day working week

40 hours (under 18s) / 44 hours (18+)

Autocentre opening hours: 8:00am to 6:00pm

Training & Qualifications

You'll work towards:
SCQF Level 5 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

Opportunity to progress to SCQF Level 7 after two years

Training includes workplace safety, vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and electrical systems, supported by dedicated GTG and Halfords mentors.

Entry Requirements

Qualifications

National 4 (or above) in Maths, English and a Science or Technical subject (or equivalent)

Skills & Qualities

Passion for vehicles and mechanical work

Practical and problem-solving skills

Strong communication and teamwork

Organised with good attention to detail

Willingness to learn and adapt

Basic Microsoft Office skills

Customer-focused approach
