Job Summary
The PCN Paramedic is an experienced autonomous practitioner who works within professional boundaries and HCPC standards to deliver high-quality clinical care across Huntingdon PCN. The post-holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients presenting with acute, urgent, and chronic conditions in both surgery and community settings.
The role offers an alternative model to traditional GP appointments and home visits, providing advanced clinical assessment, triage, treatment, and care planning for patients. Working independently within scope of practice, the Paramedic will use enhanced assessment and decision-making skills to manage undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations, including minor illness, minor injuries, abdominal pain, chest pain, headaches, frailty, and complex long-term conditions.
The post-holder will work collaboratively with GPs, nurses, pharmacists, physiotherapists, social prescribing teams, community services and secondary care providers to improve patient outcomes, reduce health inequalities, and support the strategic priorities of Huntingdon PCN. Clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional development opportunities will be provided to support career progression and advanced practice development.
When employed under the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS), the post-holder will fulfil the requirements outlined within Annex B (Section B13) of the Network Contract DES Specification 2026/27.
