Job description

Make a difference in your community by joining our charity shop team at Farplace Animal Rescue in Hensingham.

We’re looking for a passionate and motivated individual to take on the role of deputy manager.

About the Role

As a deputy with Farplace Animal Rescue you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our charity shop. You’ll assist in running the shop smoothly, provide cover when needed and help us maximize the impact of our charity’s mission.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Shop Manager and with daily operations and running the store in their absence.
Completing end of day cashing up and weekly cash reconciliation.
Assisting with the training and supervision of volunteers.
Delivering excellent customer service to shop visitors.
Helping with stock processing, sorting donations, and merchandising.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming shop environment.
Acting as a keyholder and ensuring shop security as required.

What We’re Looking For

Previous retail or charity shop experience
A team player with strong communication and leadership skills.
Enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to supporting the shop’s success. Willing to work some weekends.
Ability to motivate and inspire a diverse group of volunteers.
A keen eye for detail and an interest in retail presentation.
Understanding of the values and goals of a charity organisation.

Retail sales: 2 years (required)
