Asbestos Officer

About the role:

We are seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Asbestos Officer to support the safe management of asbestos across our corporate and school estate. This is a key role ensuring that all sites remain compliant with legislation and that robust systems are in place to protect staff, pupils, contractors, and visitors.

In this role, you will lead on the management and ongoing review of Asbestos Registers and Asbestos Management Plans across all premises. You will organise asbestos surveys and re-inspections (Management and, where required, Refurbishment/Demolition surveys) This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced asbestos professional to help create safe, compliant environments across a diverse council portfolio. We are looking to appoint an Asbestos Officer to join our Assets Compliance Team.

About the candidate:

We are looking for an asbestos specialist with a strong technical understanding of asbestos legislation and best practice, ideally with experience working across multi-site public sector or educational estates. You will have a relevant asbestos qualification and have Professional membership or ideally working towards. If you are a proactive asbestos professional who is passionate about improving safety in council buildings, schools and educational settings, we would welcome your application.
