What you’ll do…
The role of a Craftsperson champions a broad forestry skillset in challenging environments and embraces the outdoor office.
You will deliver woodland creation activities in the area at scale as part of a team by undertaking a range of compliant operations, such as

Planting and establishment work

Fencing and gateway maintenance

Surveying, including measuring and tariffing

Tree safety work, pruning and felling
The ability to work in a team, and autonomously, is really important, delivering work to high quality and health and safety standards, practically and efficiently.

Where you’ll work…
The West England Forest District team are custodians of 38,500 ha of the Nations Forests in the west and south-west of England. Our woods can be found from Shrewsbury in the north to the majestic veteran trees of Savernake Forest near Marlborough, and the conifer forests on Bodmin Moor, and ancient woodlands of the Glynn Valley in Cornwall. You will be based at Cooksworthy Forest Centre, Halwill, Beaworthy, Devon EX21 5UX.
