Product Designer / UI UX Designer
Salary: £42 to £45k
Location: On site.
We’re looking for a Product Designer to join the design team at FeedMeOnline and help improve a growing ecosystem of customer-facing and operational products.
You’ll work closely with our Product Design Lead and developers across web, mobile and internal products. We’re looking for somebody who can independently take on product problems, turn early ideas into polished solutions and intelligently apply established approaches across different platforms.
This is a hands-on role for somebody with strong UI and interaction design skills, good product judgement and, above all, exceptional attention to detail.
What You’ll Do
● Own product-design problems from investigation through to handoff.
● Develop concepts, wireframes and rough flows into polished, implementation-ready designs.
● Independently deliver smaller features and improvements, with increasing ownership as you build familiarity with the products.
● Adapt established patterns appropriately across desktop, mobile and operational environments.
● Use and contribute to our existing design system and component libraries.
● Consider meaningful states, edge cases and responsive behaviour rather than designing only the happy path.
● Work directly with developers throughout implementation, discussing constraints, reviewing the finished result and resolving meaningful differences.
● Contribute ideas, share knowledge and constructively challenge an existing approach when you can see a better solution.
What We’re Looking For
● Exceptional attention to detail. You notice inconsistent spacing, awkward wrapping, incorrect states, component misuse and the small things that make an interface feel unfinished. More importantly, you check for them yourself.
● Strong UI and interaction-design skills, with a good eye for hierarchy, typography, spacing and responsive behaviour.
● The ability to investigate an existing product, understand the problem and propose a solution without needing step-by-step direction.
● Good systems thinking. You’re comfortable working within an established design language, reusing patterns where they fit and improving them thoughtfully when there’s a genuine gap.
● Confidence working directly with developers, explaining your reasoning and discussing practical compromises without losing sight of the intended experience.
● Good judgement about when to make a decision independently and when something needs wider product, business or technical input.
Experience
You should have several years of commercial product-design experience and be comfortable taking work from problem through to implementation.
We care more about the level at which you can work than an exact number of years.
You should be confident using Figma professionally, including components, Auto Layout, variables or design tokens, responsive layouts and prototyping.
Your portfolio should show real product work and your ability to explain the problem, your reasoning, the constraints you encountered and how you collaborated with others to get the work implemented.
Experience with responsive web, native/mobile products, SaaS, operational tools or design systems would be useful, but we don’t expect one person to have done everything.
The Environment
Our products span customer ordering, mobile apps, ePOS and internal tools such as CRM and Control Centre, supported by a shared design system.
