As Vice President – Transaction Advisory, Western Europe, you will lead Tantrum's Transaction Advisory business across the Western European region, overseeing strategic growth, client delivery, and operational excellence.
This is a senior regional leadership role within our Global Transaction Advisory Division (GTAD), reporting to the Senior Vice President and ultimately the Global Head of Transaction Advisory. You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing regional advisory platform across Western Europe.
The Opportunity
Tantrum's Global Transaction Advisory Division supports clients across mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, capital raising, and strategic investments. We provide end-to-end advisory throughout the transaction lifecycle, combining financial rigour, operational insight, commercial due diligence, and market intelligence.
As VP – Western Europe, you will be responsible for translating global GTAD strategy into regional execution. You will lead transaction advisory delivery across Western Europe, oversee domestic and cross-border mandates, and ensure alignment with global standards, governance, and quality frameworks.
This role combines commercial leadership, client engagement, people management, and strategic oversight. You will be expected to grow the regional business, strengthen relationships with corporate and private equity clients, and build a scalable advisory team aligned with Tantrum's global ambitions.
The Role
As Vice President – Transaction Advisory, Western Europe, you will have overall responsibility for the performance, leadership, and strategic direction of the Transaction Advisory business across the Western European region.
Your responsibilities include:
- Leading the European Transaction Advisory practice, ensuring alignment with the Global Transaction Advisory Division's strategy, governance, and quality framework.
- Holding full line management responsibility for regional leadership teams, including Senior Partners, Directors, Senior Managers, Managers, and Associates.
- Driving regional revenue growth, profitability, and pipeline development in line with global business objectives.
- Overseeing complex and high-value transaction engagements across Europe, while supporting multinational and cross-border assignments in collaboration with other regions.
- Acting as the senior regional representative for Transaction Advisory across Europe with clients, investors, financial sponsors, and strategic stakeholders.
- Ensuring adherence to global quality, risk management, regulatory, and compliance standards across all engagements.
- Building a scalable regional operating model, including workforce planning, succession planning, capability development, and leadership pipelines.
- Working closely with the SVP and EVP to contribute to global GTAD strategy, service innovation, and international growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the Western European Transaction Advisory practice.
- Ensure regional teams operate consistently within global methodologies, governance frameworks, and quality standards.
- Drive operational excellence, resource optimisation, and performance management across multiple European markets.
- Maintain accountability for regional financial, operational, and people performance metrics.
Client & Market Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, boards, private equity firms, financial institutions, and corporate investors on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, and strategic investments.
- Develop and strengthen relationships with multinational corporates, founder-led businesses, private equity sponsors, family offices, institutional investors, and sovereign wealth funds operating across Europe.
- Expand Tantrum's market presence across key Western European financial centres including London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels etc other strategic markets.
- Develop and lead strategic industry verticals across Western Europe, strengthening Tantrum's market position in sectors such as Financial Services, Technology, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Industrials, Consumer, Business Services, Energy & Infrastructure, while driving sector-focused business development and thought leadership.
- Identify emerging market opportunities, sector trends, and strategic partnerships to drive sustainable growth.
People & Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Partners, Directors, and future leaders across Europe.

- Support cross-selling opportunities across Tantrum's wider advisory platform.
Risk & Quality Management
- Ensure transaction quality, engagement risk management, independence requirements, and regulatory compliance are consistently maintained.
- Escalate significant commercial, legal, or reputational risks to the SVP and EVP as appropriate.
- Protect the firm's reputation through disciplined governance and rigorous quality control.
Cross-Regional Collaboration
- Partner closely with regional Vice Presidents across other strategic regions, to deliver seamless multinational transaction support.
- Collaborate with global service lines including Strategy, Valuations, Tax, Legal, Operations, Technology, ESG, and Financial Advisory.
- Support the continued development of global methodologies, sector expertise, and innovation initiatives.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow a regional advisory business within a global professional services environment.
- Deep expertise across transaction advisory, mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence, operational due diligence, valuations, and deal execution.
- Strong commercial judgement with experience managing regional P&L responsibility and driving profitable growth.
- Established credibility with CEOs, CFOs, private equity sponsors, institutional investors, lenders, and boards across Western Europe.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate global priorities into regional execution.
- Strong governance orientation with sound judgement in managing complex, high-value, and cross-border transactions.
- Excellent leadership capability with experience building high-performing, geographically dispersed teams.
To Qualify for the Role You Must Have
- Minimum 18–20 years' experience within transaction advisory, corporate finance, investment banking, deal advisory, or a related professional services environment.
- Significant experience leading regional or multi-country advisory teams across Western Europe.
- Proven track record of business development, revenue growth, client relationship management, and successful delivery of complex transactions.
- Strong understanding of Western European M&A markets, regulatory environments, and cross-border transaction dynamics.
- Experience operating within an international or matrix-managed organisation.
Ideally, You'll Also Have
- Extensive cross-border transaction experience involving Europe and international markets.
- Bachelor's degree together with a Master's degree or MBA.
- Relevant professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CPA, CA, or equivalent.
- Experience advising private equity firms, infrastructure investors, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, or multinational corporations.
- Business fluency in English is essential.
- Fluency in German or another major European language would be advantageous.
