Laboratory Chemist
Dukinfield, Greater Manchester
At Saint-Gobain Construction Chemicals, we're looking for a Laboratory Chemist to join our R&D team, helping to ensure our products consistently meet the highest quality standards while supporting the development of innovative construction solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a laboratory professional who enjoys variety and wants to make a real impact. Working across Quality Control, Research & Development and customer sample preparation, you'll play a key role in ensuring product performance, supporting new product innovation and delivering excellent service to our customers. You'll work closely with colleagues across Production, Quality, R&D and Sales, making this a collaborative role with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

What we're looking for
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment, ideally within Quality Control, Research & Development or product testing.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately record and interpret laboratory data.
- A proactive team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues across different functions while also being able to work independently.
- A good understanding of laboratory safety procedures and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping.
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out quality control testing on raw materials, in-process materials and finished products to ensure they meet internal and customer specifications.
- Supporting Research & Development projects by preparing, testing and evaluating new formulations and product improvements.
- Preparing, packaging and dispatching customer samples while maintaining accurate records and managing sample inventory.
- Recording, analysing and reporting laboratory results, helping to investigate product quality issues and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, supporting calibration activities and ensuring laboratory safety and housekeeping standards are consistently achieved.
