Inafix Ltd is a small, friendly, and fast-paced team based in Shaftesbury, and we’re looking for an experienced and proactive Project Sales & Technical Estimator to join us.
This is a varied role that goes beyond traditional estimating. You’ll take responsibility for domestic quotations, technical surveys, heat loss calculations and customer follow-up, while also helping us deliver a high level of service from initial enquiry through to project handover. Training and support will be provided where required, however a strong knowledge in plumbing & heating is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage domestic enquiries from initial contact through to quotation and acceptance.
- Attend customer site surveys and gather the information required to accurately price projects.
- Prepare accurate quotations for plumbing, heating, renewables and associated works.
- Complete heat loss calculations and system sizing for air source heat pump installations.
- Prepare technical proposals in line with MCS and manufacturer requirements.
- Follow up quotations and maintain regular communication with prospective customers.
- Provide customers with clear advice and guidance on suitable heating and renewable solutions.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain pricing, product information and technical support.
- Work closely with the office team to coordinate surveys, installations and project handovers.
- Work closely with engineers to maintain project schedules
- Ensure all relevant information and documentation is accurately passed to the installation team.
- Identify opportunities for additional work, including servicing, maintenance plans and complementary products.
- Maintain accurate records of quotations and sales opportunities.
- Support the wider business with technical advice when required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in plumbing, heating, HVAC, renewables or a related technical industry.
- Previous experience in estimating, surveying, sales or quoting.
- Experience with air source heat pumps and heat loss calculations is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of heating systems and associated products.
- Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
- Commercially aware with a strong customer-focused approach.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Confident using computers and estimating/CRM software.
- Familiarity with SIMPRO is advantageous, but training can be provided.
- Able to work independently while also being part of a close-knit team.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
