Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and motivated Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving a variety of beverages and food items, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about coffee, possess good organisational skills, and be eager to contribute to a positive customer experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring high quality standards are met.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and efficient manner.
Maintain cleanliness of the shop floor, counters, and equipment in accordance with food safety standards.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers.
Support team members during busy periods by providing assistance wherever necessary.

Qualifications

Previous experience or familiarity with coffee preparation is essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
Ability to work well within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers.
A friendly attitude with a genuine enthusiasm for delivering excellent customer service.
