Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Gardener/Handyman/woman to join our team. This role involves maintaining outdoor spaces accross 2 nursery settings and performing general repair and maintenance tasks across both properties located in Walsoken and Walpole st Andrews, these will include but are not limited to general repairs and refurbishment of buildings and equipment, building furniture/flatpack/sheds etc. Painting and decorationg as required, light plumbing. Weeding, grass cutting and assisting to maintina the areas used daily. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening, horticulture, and upkeep, alongside practical skills in using hand tools and power tools. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to combine gardening expertise with handyman duties. Tools and equipment are provided. This is an employed role through the business, more hours may be available during spring/summer months for right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance garden beds, lawns, and outdoor landscapes through planting, pruning, weeding, and fertilising.
- Operate hand tools such as spades, shears, and rakes to carry out gardening tasks efficiently.
- Use power tools including hedge trimmers, lawnmowers, and blowers to perform landscape maintenance. hand drills, saws etc for repairs and building/fixing equipment.
- Perform general repairs around properties, including fixing fences, gates, or minor structural issues.
- Assist with outdoor cleaning duties such as clearing debris and maintaining pathways.
- Support plant growth through horticultural practices and advise on suitable plant selections.
- Ensure all work areas are kept safe, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques and plant care is essential.
- Practical knowledge of using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Growing experience or background in horticulture will be considered an advantage.
- Ability to undertake minor repairs or handyman tasks confidently.
- A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and organisation in outdoor environments.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
