We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Purchase Ledger Assistant to join our growing, progressive and dynamic business. You will play a key role in the Accounts Payable and Purchase Order functions within the Finance department, and the right candidate will have the opportunity to grow into wider accounting functions and be sponsored for qualifications if desirable.
What You'll Be Doing
Key responsibilities include:
Daily responsibilities:
· Manage communications responding promptly and efficiently to matters and queries.
· Process purchase invoices accurately, both manually and against purchase orders.
· Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
· Resolve purchase order and invoice discrepancies in a proactive manner.
· Support effective supplier traceability and batch code management processes.
· Maintain control of the purchase ledger and drive supplier payment runs and other standard functions for this role.
· Provide ad hoc support to the Finance team and wider business on purchasing and supplier matters.
· Deliver against the needs of a FMCG business, by supporting colleagues proactively, and in response to market changes.
· Carry out designated month-end activities, including ledger close and journal preparation.
· Review and reconcile open purchase orders and GRNI balances.
· Manage and maintain supplier portal accounts and information.
. Assist Management Accountant at month end.

Essential Skills & Experience
· Extensive Accounts Administration, Accounts Payable and Purchasing experience and conscious of multi-national activity.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and resolve issues efficiently.
· Experience of managing the purchase order process.
· Strong attention to detail and reporting capability
· Strong communication and relationship-building skills
· Analytical mindset with the ability to review and challenge data
