Full job description

About the Role

You will support our data engineering and analytics delivery, with a primary focus on maintaining, enhancing and building the processes feeding our client's Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW). This is a learning-oriented role with strong mentorship, ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting ELT/integration processes that feed the EDW for our retail clients
Write and optimize SQL queries for data validation, issue diagnosis, and basic transformations
Develop and maintain Python scripts for data processing, automation, and support tasks
Perform basic data quality checks, reconciliation, and analytics
Support report development and enhancements within Strategy (previously MicroStrategy) & Power BI
Participate in our rotating support/on-call rota (with full senior guidance)
Collaborate with senior engineers and document processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong foundation in SQL (querying, joins, aggregations, analytical functions)
Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scripting and automation)
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or related field
Eagerness to learn, strong problem-solving attitude and attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable with occasional out-of-hours support as part of a rota

Nice-to-Have

Understanding of data warehousing concepts
Exposure to BI platforms like Strategy & Power BI
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Git, or monitoring tools
Experience with retail or transactional data
Interest in AI tools for data engineering and analytics
