The Role
As Front of House Supervisor, you will support the Front of House Manager and deputise in their absence. You will help lead the restaurant team, maintain high service standards, support sales and profitability, and ensure customers receive a warm, efficient and enjoyable experience every time they visit.
This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys leading from the front, supporting a busy team and creating a welcoming restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Front of House Manager in the day to day running of The Loft Restaurant.
- Deputise for the Front of House Manager when required.
- Lead by example on the restaurant floor, delivering excellent customer service.
- Help manage team productivity across front of house and back of house.
- Support the team to achieve sales and margin targets.
- Assist with rota planning to ensure the right level of cover at the right time.
- Help manage salary budgets, staffing levels and service standards.
- Support the monitoring of consumable costs and supplier usage.
- Coach, motivate and develop team members.
- Help ensure health and safety, food hygiene and company procedures are followed and documented.
- Communicate clearly between management and the wider restaurant team.
- Help identify opportunities to improve service, product presentation and the customer experience.
- Support wider Garden Centre activity, events and projects where required.
About You
We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You will have:
- Previous catering, café, restaurant or hospitality management experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good leadership skills.
- Experience planning, organising and motivating a team.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
- A hands on approach, especially during busy service periods.
- The ability to coach and develop people.
- Commercial awareness, with an understanding of sales, margin and cost control.
- High personal and professional standards.
- A genuine passion for excellent customer service.
Desirable Experience
- Level 2 Food Hygiene.
- Experience in a quick service café or restaurant environment.
- Competent IT skills.
- Experience working in a structured hospitality or retail environment.
- An understanding of garden centre retailing and the role hospitality plays within the wider business.
