Working within the Visitor Business for Spetchley Gardens as part of passionate team this role as a Visitor Service Assistant, plays a core part in providing fantastic customer service.
This role is an hourly paid, fixed term contract till the end of August. Wherever possible we aim to offer a consistent working pattern to include working weekends, we’re looking for flexibility as it may be necessary for us to alter this pattern from time to time to suit the needs of the business. We’d give you as much notice of this as possible.
We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills and are committed to high-quality visitor service to join our team. You would bring your exceptional customer service skills, understand our visitor needs and requirements while also supporting their overall experience
What it's like to work here: An iconic garden with a plants persons reputation, this colourful charming garden and outdoor spaces offers tranquil spaces and secret vistas to delight all visitors. The small Gardening Team have exciting times ahead with lots of conservation projects planned. The garden occupies a beautiful rural location in the village of Spetchley 4 miles outside of Worcestershire, so you are likely to need your own transport to get here.
Visitors are a vital part of what we do, so you’ll be responsible for ensuring that you provide an excellent service to all our visitors, every day. As a Visitor Service Assistant, it’s your role to ensure that the welcome our visitors receive is perfect, setting them up for an amazing experience for the rest of the day.
You’ll be responsible for answering queries and making sure visitors can find everything they need for their visit. Understanding how and why we engage our supporters is key.
- Who we're looking for Candidates who demonstrate an empathetic, understanding and adaptable approach to different people’s needs, with a passion to deliver the highest standards of customer care.
- Proven experience of working to measurable targets
- Good team worker- flexible and adaptable and willing to grow experience and skillset across several different operation aspects of the Gardens
- Working on our tills selling admission tickets, processing payments of activities and events and promoting our Growing Support strategy (Memberships/Donations/Fundraising)
- Promote events, offers, products and benefits of actively supporting the Gardens
- Support in the delivery of events at times throughout the year
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Answering phone calls and transferring them as necessary
- Ability to make decisions within procedures and knowing when to escalate issues
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience of delivering a high-quality visitor or customer experience to a diverse range of visitors
- Experience of dealing with challenging situations and visitor/customer complaints
- Well organised and able to work with minimum supervision
