JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Part-Time Bar Assistant

Reports to: Bar & Catering Manager

Job Purpose:

· To deliver excellent service to members, customers and maximise bar & Catering income day to day and at events

· To present a positive image of the organisation by being polite, friendly and helpful to all members & visitors.

Bar & Catering team members are specifically responsible for delivering daily and event-based bar and catering service by setting up the bars day to day and during events, dealing with a wide range of members, customers and functions.

Events:

1. To set up bars and catering day to day and for events.

2. Ensure that licensing objectives are upheld

3. Maintaining a smart appearance, following dress code

4. Establishing customer requirements and dispensing beverages/ snacks promptly and efficiently.

5. Informing members customers of additional bar services such as food, advising members & customers of daily specials, resolving minor queries and customer complaints.

6. To have sufficient product knowledge to ensure members & customers are helped with their order.

7. To follow the correct opening and closing procedures as set out by your line manager

8. Cash handling, counting floats and using tills responsibly.

9. To be fully aware of the company and personal responsibilities with regards to licensing legislation.

10. Cleaning/ tidying of bar and catering areas, including the kitchen, bar counter, cellar, dry stores, clubhouse chairs, tables and flooring.

11. Reporting maintenance issues through your line manager.

Person Specification: Bar & Catering Team Member

A confident and experienced individual with excellent customer service skills .

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

·Sense of Humour and able to work in a team

· Experience of bar work preferred

Work related experience:

confident in communicating with a wide variety of people
Willingness to deliver excellent service to customers

Disposition:

· flexible attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

· ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment

· ability to use initiative

· willingness to work as and when required

OUTLINE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Hours: zero hours basis. Ideally working at least 3 days a week over the 7 days of the week your shifts may include some weekend shift patterns.

Contract Term: Ongoing but could lead to a permanent contract

Salary: minimum £12.82

Job Types: Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: From £12.82 per hour
